What Is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. CrossFit is not specialized but seeks to create and maximize cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. In order to accomplish these goals, CrossFit incorporates constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement. In our gym, you will find weights, tires, boxes, barbells, kettlebells and medicine balls. You will not see treadmills, ellipticals, or weight machines. You will see people engaged in a combination of sprinting, jumping rope, climbing rope, flipping tires, weight lifting, carrying odd objects, box jumps, barbells, dumbbells, gymnastics ring work, pull-ups, kettlebells, medicine balls, and bodyweight exercises.
CrossFit encompasses exclusively with compound weight and body weight movements and high intensity cardiovascular sessions. It’s intense. At first, you may think you cannot do it, but that’s okay. The goal is to build your fitness. It’s okay to start where you are, our skilled trainers will scale the workouts for your appropriate fitness level. All fitness levels are welcomed and will be encouraged!
CrossFit begins with a core belief in fitness as fundamental to quality of life. The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness. CrossFit is a program that will best prepare athletes for any physical obstacle that may be encountered. Rather than training your body to do several movements over and over again, the varied workouts workout parts of your body that you never knew existed.
The goal of CrossFit is to not specialize in anything.
